As the Enterprise hosts an archeology conference, Picard re-encounters Vash and renews his romance.  Her presence makes him uncomfortable, as it turns out that he’s never told any of his crew about her.  Q also shows up, feeling indebted to teach Picard a lesson about the dangers of love.  To this end, he transport Picard, Vash, and the command crew of the Enterprise into a Robin Hood-fantasy

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season Three Summary

Some argue that Season 3 is the best season of Next Generation.  I am withholding such judgments until I finish reviewing the whole series, but it is certainly miles ahead of what went on before.  Where Season 2 definitely displayed an overall upswing of quality, it’s with Season 3 that the show truly hits its stride, producing more than just a handful of truly “great” episodes.

After a particularly grueling diplomatic mission, Picard takes a reluctant holiday at Risa, a noted vacation planet.  His efforts to have some quiet time reading a book are interrupted by Vash, a beautiful criminal pretending to be an archeologist in search of a legendary priceless artifact.
