Doctor Who Timeline: Debuts & Departures Timeline

I found myself getting curious about the various ages of different actors and creators involved with Doctor Who over the years, and so today we have a little timeline that tells us throughout the years of when people were born, when they debuted on the show, and when they died (for those no longer living).

Will Russell T. Davies break all the Doctor Who records?

A while ago I did a post where I ranked how successful each Doctor Who producer was at farewelling the show’s companions. At the time, I said that the only person whose specific ranking could still feasibly change was Chris Chibnall, as he was still running the show and was likely to still write out one or two companions. But, it turns out I was wrong, but now we hear that Russell T. Davies is returning to helm the program in 2023!

Today–November 12, 2021–is the 57th anniversary of something pretty important in the world of Doctor Who: the publication of the Dr. Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks. Or as it is also known, the first ever Doctor Who novelization, and indeed, the first ever Doctor Who novel of any sort.

Doctor Who / The Avengers (Tara King-era) Actor Connections

Lately, I’ve been going through some other movies and shows and finding where there are actors or creative talent that they have in common with Doctor Who.

Also recently, I finished going through all the “Emma Peel” episodes of the 1960s TV show The Avengers and blogging about each one (starting here), including noting when its guest cast were also people who made appearances in Doctor Who. I was struck by how much crossover there was.

Doctor Who Creators Hall of Fame–2021 Inductees

The votes are in! Blue Towel Productions’ first ever inductees into the Doctor Who Creators Hall of Fame have been decided!

Thirty-nine nominees have given way to seven inductees, representing a range of of the series’ best known actors, producers, and writers. It’s not the exact list of people I’d have chosen if it were up to me, but that’s okay–that’s why it was a vote.
