And to add to all the real life goals and challenges that that brings, I’ve created at least one as it relates to movies and this blog–watch a film I’ve never seen before which came out in each year of my life (thus the “Old-New” terminology), and then write a bit about it. A long trip to the USA and back, all in just over a week, can only mean one thing…
Actually, it can mean a whole lot of things. But amongst those things is that there’s bee a whole lot of on-board ocean-traversing movie-viewing going on. Let’s summarize! Warning: most of these things are not very good, and there are plenty of spoilers lurking about.
Wonder (2017)
This is a great time to be alive for geeky superhero sci-fi movie lovers. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is approaching fast, and Justice League is just behind us. It’s not that all of these movies are good, it’s just that there is always something to see. And chances are, some of it will be good.
But in the midst of these back-to-back spectacles, it’s easy to overlook other sorts of projects–more modest films that are just as worthwhile, or more so, even for the type of young teen family that I’m part of. In this case, I’m grateful that we didn’t overlook Wonder.
