Star Trek: The Next Generation – Firstborn [7.21]

Worf is concerned by Alexander’s lack of interest in becoming a Klingon warrior.  Attending a Klingon celebration in order to draw Alexander’s interest in that aspect of his culture, Worf is saved from an assassination attempt by a family friend, K’mtar.  K’mtar attempts to convince Alexander to embrace his heritage as a Klingon and to become a warrior. 

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Parallels [7.11]

Returning to the Enterprise after participating in an athletic tournament, Worf finds himself moving into a variety of similar but not identical parallel universes, seemingly randomly.  He must deal with the confusion of finding himself both married to Deanna Troi and being the first officer of the Enterprise.  Eventually, it is realized that Worf had encountered a strange phenomena in space which caused him to shift universes whenever he is close to Geordi’s VISOR.

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season Six Summary

Season Six of Next Generation is beginning to show a few signs of growing thin, but overall still makes for enjoyable viewing.  The thin-ness is really the same as for Season Five – there are no big story-arcs winding up.  Indeed, there aren’t really any big story-arcs winding down either.  Those all finished a couple of years prior, and the new ones are really being saved for Deep Space Nine.  We also see the roles of various regular fixtures on board the ship sort of peter out, such as Guinan, Alexander, Ro, and the O’Briens.  Though some will show up one more time next year, basically their presence as regular parts of the Next Generation landscape end on a whimper this year.

What we do get is a bunch of stand-alone episodes, including some great of ones.

Undergoing a crisis of faith, Worf spends time at a Klingon holy shrine and is shocked when Kahless, the legendary founder of the Klingon people, suddenly returns in front of him, in apparent fulfillment of prophesy.

Picard’s old archeology professor comes on board the Enterprise and invites Picard on a mysterious expedition.  Picard refuses, but changes his mind when his professor is attacked and killed for his information.  The Enterprise then embarks on a quest to discover a secret message that has been secretly encoded into the DNA of life forms from many different worlds. 

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Birthright, Part II [6.17]

Worf finds himself a prisoner in a camp in which Klingons and Romulans have learned to live peacefully together, but only because the Klingons have given up their warrior ways.  Worf must face his own prejudices when he realizes the woman he has become attracted to is in fact half-Romulan.

Picard is informed that the famed Ambassador Spock has abruptly and mysteriously left Vulcan to go to Romulus.  Concerned that he may have defected, Picard and Data go after him. 

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Redemption, Part II [5.1]

The Klingon civil war is well underway between the forces of the family Duras against the forces of Gowron, which include Worf and his brother Kurn.  Picard organizes a Federation task force to create a sensor blockade which will reveal the involvement of the Romulans in supporting the Duras family.  Data captains one of the starships in this blockade. 

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Redemption [4.26]

On the eve of Gowron’s official installation as Klingon chancellor, the family of Duras emerge with a new contender – the young Toral.  In his role as Arbiter of Succession, Picard discounts Toral’s claim, but Klingon civil war looms closer.  Worf teams up with his brother Kurn to gather allies for Gowron, in an attempt to convince him to restore Worf’s honor. 

Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Mind’s Eye [4.24]

Geordi is kidnapped by the Romulans and secretly brainwashed into assassinating a Klingon governor in order to break up their alliance with the Federation.
