2022 – Things to Look Forward To

Happy New Year!

Life is about faith, hope, love, and all the things that spring from that, like relationships and purpose and peace and joy. However, my blog tends to be more about things that I just think are fun or quirky or interesting. So with that in mind here are some things I’m looking forward to, especially movies & TV shows and the like, in 2022…

And just to be clever like that, here are twenty-two things that we are anticipating seeing in 2022, ranked roughly in ascending order of my interest.

Stuff I’ve Read, Watched, Done #28 – December 15th, 2021

We’re a little late with my “weekly” round-up post. Normally I try to get it out on a Sunday, but this week on Sunday I was away with my family (the four of us who are here at the moment–my eldest daughter is over east on a missionary training program.

(EDIT: And even later still than I thought–this was intended to go up on the 15th, as it says, but apparently I forgot to press the “publish” button for a full week after that! Oops! Way to break a streak).

Stuff I’ve Read, Watched, Done #10 – September 21, 2020

Well, it’s been about five months since I did one of these posts. Originally, my intention was to write one of these a week as a form of logging and journaling, giving an overview of the media I’ve consumed that isn’t going to make it into their own posts. But somehow, as it does, life got away from me.

Since then, so much has happened, and so much has changed (back then we were still in semi-lockdown in Perth). Of course I’m not going to try talk about everything I’ve done, but I will try to pick it up from just this pass week or so…

Weekly Geeky Question #41: A DC Extended Universe Gameplan

Every week in 2018, the plan is that my friend Rod is going to ask me some geeky question that will answer in a post. This week is Week #41, and this time around the question is the same as it was last time, because I didn’t finish it last time:

How would I save the DC Extended Universe (again)?

DCEU Justice League Flash Ezra Miller

Favorite Fictional Heroes Countdown–Part 10 (#10-5)

And the countdown to my favorite fictional hero continues.  In today’s post, we have focus on just 6 characters, rather than 10, just to slow it down a bit as we approach the top.  Of these 6, 1 is female, and 5 are male. 4 are considered to be especially formidable hand-to-hand combatants.  2 were on the same superhero team together for years, and 2 were on another superhero team together for years.  One of each of those pairs is the same character, and his two teammates were also partners with each other for years.  Got all that?  Good, let’s go…

Maintenance Man

Favorite Fictional Heroes Countdown–Part 9 (#20-11)

And the countdown to my favorite fictional hero continues.  In today’s post, we have 10 characters who for the third time are all male, although three of them are not human beings.  Another two were born on earth, but mostly work in outer space.

Dunkirk

Weekly Geeky Question #32: Creative Use of Super-Powers

Every week in 2018, the plan is that my friend Rod is going to ask me some geeky question that will answer in a post. This week is Week #32, and this week’s question is again about comic books and superheroes:

What are some of the most unique, creative uses of super powers that I’ve seen in comics or film?

Matter-Eater Lad

49th Year Bucket List

So, point of clarification:  I’m 48 years old currently, having just celebrated my birthday yesterday.  I’m not 49, but that this year is actually my 49th year of living.  When I celebrate my 49th birthday, that means I’m completing my 49th year, not starting it.

And I know, it’s not really a “bucket list” if the deadline isn’t the end of your life…when you “kick the bucket”.  Indeed, maybe it’d be better to call this a “49th Year To-Do List”.  But that’s catchy sounding, don’t you think?

So this is a list of things I’m hoping to have achieved by the time that me being able to say “I’m 48 years old” is cold and buried in the ground.  What do I want to have achieved / completed / accomplished by then?  That’s what we’re looking at here. Continue reading 49th Year Bucket List

Weekly Geeky Question #20: Heroes I like

Every week in 2018, the plan is that my friend Rod is going to ask me some geeky question that will answer in a post. This week is Week #20, and this week’s questions is…

Saturn Girl 2

Who are my five favorite comic book heroes and why?
