So, I just recently re-watched Jurassic World, and of course we’re all at least mildly curious about the next film coming out in the franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. But just recently an idea occurred to me for the future of the Jurassic saga that is perfectly set up by the most recent film to be released, it’s hard to imagine this isn’t where they are going.

OK, just to be clear, I don’t hate Jurassic Park. It’s got the best dinosaurs we’d ever seen in a film up to that point (by a long shot) and it’s got a number of really gripping sequences (that terrifying opening, the T-Rex attacking the jeep, the velociraptors come out in full force). The other day my wife and I celebrated our anniversary by going to see Jurassic World. You have may have heard of it. Apparently it broke all sorts of box-office records when it took in about 50 Squidzillion dollars in the first 30 seconds that it was out – such an impressive display of financial power that it made even the Marvel movies sit up and notice. (Hey everyone, dinosaurs are back in! How long until Marvel pays a cinematic visit to the Savage Land? Or maybe DC will step up to the plate and give us a movie version of the War That Time Forgot.)
