Last weekend, for the fourth time, I made my way to Supanova, the pop culture expo that’s been running in Perth since 2008, highlighting all sorts of stuff pertaining to “geek culture,” ie comics, science fiction, fantasy, anime and the like. I went with my friend who has attended with me a couple of times before, and who this time brought his teen daughter with him.

In my adult years I’ve only been to a few conventions, less than you’d think considering how much I enjoy this sort of stuff, or at least some of it. That’s probably because I live in Australia, in the far away city of Perth. It’s a beautiful place but there are only a couple of events like this each year, and often I can’t really do much of the things I want at them. Still, I gave it a go.
