Wow, it’s only been a week and a day since my last catch-all post like this. What’s impressive about this is that on that occasion I wrote about watching the first season of Infinity Train with my daughters. Now, just a little bit later, we have already finished watching the rest of the series–seasons two, three and four.

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai and its crazy end title sequence

Back in 1984, a director named W.D. Richter and a writer named Earl Mac Rauch somehow got the green light to put together a smorgasbord of science fiction and pop culture ideas into one loopy movie that was a financial failure, but continues to inspire passion in die-hard fans to this day.

It’s called The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, and it is one crazy animal.

Superman / Batman: Public Enemies

I just watched the original DC Comics animated movie Public Enemies – renting it off of iTunes for some light entertainment as I was traveling.  It’s based on the comic arc of the same name by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness, and made the opening storyline of what was then the new Superman / Batman ongoing title at the time.  Overall, I guess I enjoyed it in a stupid cartoon superhero sort of way, which I guess makes sense since that’s what it was.  There are some big flaws, which is similar to the comic it’s based on.
