Ahh, the historical drama, a classic genre of film making.  Indeed, a favorite genre at Oscar time.  But today, according to the instructions I’ve been given, we’re going to limit the definition a bit.

So the idea here reflects back on the entry in this series from 5 posts ago, where I talked about the seven movies I’d stock my apocalyptic bunker with.  You can read it here.  But in this case, it turns out that not only am I in the middle of some sort of global apocalypse, but also I’m in the darkest timeline.

Batman v Superman – Four Friends Rant & Ruminate

When I saw Batman v. Superman a little while ago, I went with three friends who are all into films as well, and who mostly are also into comic books.  After it was over, we avoided talking about the movie until we had a chance to gather in McDonald’s over burgers, ice cream and coffee and poured out our opinions.  And for added novelty, we decided to record the whole thing on my cell phone.

Argo – “Based on a True Story”

When I teach on scriptwriting, I’ll often get my students to take a real story that has happened to them and use it a framework to develop some new, original, and basically fictional.
