Doctor Who / Avengers (Emma Peel episodes) Actor Connections

Lately, I’ve been going through some other movies and shows and finding where there are actors or creative talent that they have in common with Doctor Who.

Also lately, I’ve just finished going through all the “Emma Peel” episodes of the 1960s TV show The Avengers and blogging about each one(starting here), including noting when its guest cast were also people who made appearances in Doctor Who. I was struck by how much crossover there was.

Avengers Endgame–Ideas, Observations, Miscellany, and one more Big One

I’ve already written a lengthy, rambling review of this movie, the 22nd in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the 1st ever movie to conclude such a massive multiple movie, multiple franchise theatrical epic.

(Alternate) Box Office Blockbuster Tourney: Even-Numbered Years Conference, Round One

So as explained previously, we are again playing a seeded tournament-style elimination game amongst each of the US domestic box office champion movies from the last 32 years, but this time with all-female judges.  Seeding was done via Rotten Tomatoes scores, with ties broken with Metacritic scores.  Three of our five judges will vote on each match-up of two films, with the winner advancing to the next round and the loser skulking off into obscurity, until we have our overall Champion!

Looking Back at Being 47

Captain America: Civil War (or really, “Marvel Super-Heroes, Part 13”)

So, if it wasn’t clear already, the Marvel Studios is now officially really confident in their “shared universe” approach to their superhero movies. I mean, we’ve known that’s what they are doing from nearly the beginning, and we’ve been excited about it ever since Robert Downey jr. showed up in the post-credit scene of The Incredible HulkAvengers was built in many ways on the goodwill and anticipation that was built up by the various hero’s prior appearances in their solo films.  And we fans have come to expect the gratuitous cameo appearances, like Chris Evans showing up Thor:  The Dark World or Anthony Mackie’s Falcon getting a big scene in Ant-Man.
