The Hanna Jo Stories #9 – Finishing one adventure / starting a new one

It’s been a long time coming, but finally here is The Hanna Jo Stories – episode 9.  Like a lot of this series, the production schedule and storyline is influenced at least in part by the comings and goings of the actresses who have played the title character.  Nadine had only recently taken the role when I found out that she was leaving Perth, and so both Episodes 8 & 9 were quickly written and recorded, more or less back-to-back. Funny Things My Daughter Says (#7)

Years ago, I was walking with one of my daughters (I’m not sure, she might have been 6 at the time), when I thought I’d share with her a piece of news that I had recently discovered.  The news was that someone had made a sequel (or, um, a “squeakquel” apparently) to Alvin and the Chipmunks.  My wife and I had taken our children to see the original in the theatres in a fit of extravagance, in what turned out to be one of the most laborious film experiences I had had in recent years.  But my children had enjoyed it, and I knew my daughter would be happy to learn that another one was coming out. I’m Gonna Use That In A Story Someday (#5)

A while ago I was thinking about the names of certain animals (as you do), particularly those who have “compound-animal” names.  You know, like “bullfrog” or “tiger shark”.  I got to thinking about what sort of animal would you have if you were to reverse those compound names.  You could get wind up some interesting fauna, the sort of thing you might find on the Island of Dr. Moreau or in a John Carter-esque fantasy story.  Continue reading I’m Gonna Use That In A Story Someday (#5)
