Hints: You need to know something about the history of the show over its many years of production to get this, but you don’t need to know anything what any of the stories in each year are called or what they were about, or even what the whole series is actually about, that get this.

Answer:
Each year, there were more episodes of Doctor Who broadcast then were ever again, in any subsequent year (so far).
It’s a a bit sad, but true. Here’s how many episodes came out in each of those years:
1966 – 46 episodes
1967 – 44 episodes
1968 – 41 episodes
1975 – 35 episodes
1977 – 30 episodes
1978 – 28 episodes
1982 – 26 episodes
1984 – 24 episodes
2010 – 15 episodes
2011 – 14 episodes
2017 – 13 episodes
2020 – 10 episodes
It’s a bit misleading as the 2010 episodes are each a lot longer than then the 1984 ones, and so there is certainly more minutes of Doctor Who in the later year. But still, I think it’s an unhappy direction. And at best, we are anticipating maybe 8 episodes in this year, 2021, so the overall downward trend still continues.
