Life has been insanely busy lately, but that doesn’t stop us from celebrating the Month of the Spoon! It does, however, stop me from writing about anything else lately.
Anyway, in celebration of the Spoons of our life–ubiquitous but often unrecognized–Blue Towel Productions is proud to present the Daily Spoon, which we were are celebrating this September, the Month of the Spoon. #MonthoftheSpoon
Today’s spoon is another one from our series of “A” monogrammed spoons, after my mother’s family name, Agatsuma.
This is…I’m not sure…I guess a sugar spoon?
I don’t know. I rarely use it, with its funny-shaped scoop, and as it happens, I’m generally not having sugar these days, so I don’t add it to anything except my wife’s coffee. And usually for that I’d use quite a different spoon (see here).
This spoon is about the same size as the normal tea spoon from the set, as seen here.
It’s listed as being from Japan, which I think makes the score Japan-3, Korea-2 in terms of this family set. Unlike some of the other spoons in this collection, we’ve only got one of these sugar spoons.
Here it is, with the sugar, which I guess is where it feels it belongs.
But sadly, this was just a posed picture, just for show, to satisfy the international inspectors. After this, it was tucked away again, for the most part forgotten and discarded.
Join us tomorrow for more of The Daily Spoon, where hopefully things will be less melancholy, here on your favorite spoon-related blog’s presentation of The Month of the Spoon!
