The Daily Spoon #4 – #MonthoftheSpoon

In celebration of the Spoons of our life–ubiquitous but often unrecognized–Blue Towel Productions is proud to present the Daily Spoon, which we were are celebrating this September, the Month of the Spoon.  #MonthoftheSpoon

Today is the special sort of story that you only recognize if you really have your eyes open for it.

I was walking to my work today, when I came across a surprising sight:  a strange spoon, resting on the sidewalk.

The Daily Spoon #4b

Do you see it?  Right there, on the ground in front of me…a SPOON!!

I didn’t touch it (you should never touch strange spoons), but I did take the opportunity to take some photographs, but close up and also with a bit more of its environment in view in order to give the story some context.

The poor little guy looked like he was on his way somewhere.  I was also on my way somewhere, so in this way we had a lot in common.  But even though I wasn’t really doing anything all that important, I felt too rushed to take the time to really appreciate the sort of cosmic brotherhood that we experienced.

Later that day, I came by again, and eagerly my eyes searched around to see if Spoony (an easy go-to nickname for a spoon, I know, but there you go) was still around anywhere, and wouldn’t you know it…!

The Daily Spoon #4e

He had made good progress, as you can see, especially considering he has no feet or legs of any sort, nor any sort of skeleton or musculature.  But what he lacks in anatomy and physiology, he makes up for in grit and determination, and stick-to-itiveness.

Indeed, it might have been that the only reason he stopped was because he was trying to obey the roadsigns.

I said my farewells, and went on my way, leaving Spoony to find his own place in this world.

So long, Spoony.  Maybe I’ll see you again tomorrow.
