The Daily Spoon #3 – #MonthoftheSpoon

In celebration of the Spoons of our life–ubiquitous but often unrecognized–Blue Towel Productions is proud to present the Daily Spoon, which we were are celebrating this September, the Month of the Spoon.  #MonthoftheSpoon

Today we are looking at the month’s first spoon which I don’t actually own.

The Daily Spoon #3e

We were at the airport, where I was dropping my wife and daughters off for a flight to Switzerland (where they are sure to encounter all manner of interesting spoons).  After checking in, we sat down together for a coffee and a snack, when I encountered this sweet baby.

What’s interesting about it is that it’s a tea-spoon, but with quite a long handle, I guess to accommodate the taller sort of glasses that were available at the shop.  Although it wasn’t strictly speaking necessary for my regular-sized flat white.

(Incidentally, I’m sorry about my strangely grubby hands.  I’m not sure what’s going on there).

The spoon didn’t have any distinguishing markings.  It was functional, but still attractive in the finest classical spoon tradition–understated but elegant, and well-balanced.

It was also maintained to the highest standard, bearing my reflection well, and providing, overall, a deeply satisfying spoon experience.

See you tomorrow for The Daily Spoon Day #4 here on Blue Towel Productions’ The Month of the Spoon.
